Ranchi: A Statewide Jharkhand bandh has been called on 28th May 2015 by various organizations like Kudmi Sena and Kudmi Jharkhand Vikas Morcha. These groups have demanded inclusion of Kudmis in Scheduled Tribes Category, according to local news website The Avenue Mail.
They have also sought support of all political parties in making the Bandh successful one. In a recently held press conference, they lambasted Government’s attitude towards Kudmis. According to them, the state government has protested inclusion of kudmi in the Scheduled Tribes.
They also claimed support of various social organizations like Kudmi Culture Development Committee, Kudmi Welfare Association, Kudmi Welfare Committee, Tribal Kudmi society, Kudmi community service, Kudmi Development Committee, tribal Kudmi Student Union, tribal Kudmi Youth Front and Jharkhandi Kudmi.
