The Release Date of Kamal Haasan’s Movie Uttama Villain has been postponed due to financial disputes between producers and financers. The Movie was scheduled to be released today, however Theatre owners cancelled the show due to financial dispute between producers and financiers.
Apart from Tamil Nadu, the Release of the Film has also been cancelled in Karnataka, Andhra and Telangana. The new release date has not been announced. Some reports say that the issue would be sorted out within hours and the movie might get released by the end of the day.
However some sources say that the movie would be released next Friday, May 8. No official communication from the filmmakers could be heard till now. Those who booked tickets for the movie are yet to receive any information about the new release date.
The film has also been opposed by Hindu groups who call it blasphemous. However, it was cleared by the Film Certification Board. The Madras HC also dismissed a petition by VHP seeking a stay on the release of film along with the deletion of a song about Lord Vishnu.
