Bihar Court orders FIR against Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta over Maggi Controversy

Muzaffarpur: A District Court in Muzaffarpur, Bihar has ordered FIR against actors Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta adding more twist to the recent Maggi Controversy, where several Drug Regulators have claimed that its 2 Minute Noodles contains Lead and MSG beyond permissible limits.

According to reports, Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate Ramchandra Prasad directed Kazi Mohammadpur Police Station to register the FIR against Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit and Preity Zinta apart from 2 Nestle Top Management Officials (Managing Director of Nestle Mohan Gupta, and its Joint Director Sabab Alam).

He was hearing a petition by a local lawyer, who claimed to have fallen ill after consuming the Maggi Noodles on May 30.

The Court ordered the Police to file an FIR and investigate the matter and if needed arrest the accused. The case has been filed under IPC sections 270 (malignant act likely to spread infection of disease dangerous to life), 273 (sale of noxious food or drink), 276 (sale of drug as a different drug or preparation) and 420 (cheating and dishonesty).

All these actors have endorsed Maggi at some point of time in past. While Bachchan said he no more endorses the brand, Dixit recently met Nestle officials in this regard and said the company has assured her about the quality of the product.
