Indian Defence personnel perform yoga to mark International Yoga Day

Srinagar/Mumbai/Jamnagar, June 21 (ANI): Indian defence personnel across the country practiced yoga on Sunday to mark the occasion of International Yoga Day.

More than 1000 Navy personnel and their families gathered at INS Valsura in the coastal state of Gujarat and performed the ancient Indian exercise.

Chief Executive Officer of INS Valsura, C Kumar Aiyyar encouraged people to inculcate the habit of practicing yoga in their everyday lives.

INS Valsura is where officers and sailors are trained in the fields of Electrical, Electronic and Weapon technologies and systems.

These include personnel from the Indian Coast Guard and various friendly foreign navies. Meanwhile, in Kashmir’s summer capital Srinagar, over 1000 personnel of paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force performed yoga to become a part of the nationwide celebrations. Rains could not spoil the plans laid out by police of Maharashtra as over 700 police personnel performed various yoga postures at Mumbai’s Marine Drive to mark the event.
