Gorakhpur, June 01 (ANI): Five infants died at a government hospital in Gorakhpur city of Uttar Pradesh. Infuriated parents accused the authorities of District Women’s Hospital in Gorakhpur of negligence which led to the death of the newborns.
Shrivastava further said that he was told by a nurse to take the child to a private hospital since the doctor was not there in the district hospital at that moment. BJP leader Radha Mohan Das Agarwal also suspected callousness on the part of the hospital.
The hospital authorities, however, have stated that the children died of clogged wind pipe as they were laid down by their mothers after breastfeeding without allowing them to belch.
A nurse at the hospital, Sunita Kumar, said that the children were healthy before they were breastfed.
