Over 2000 attend 4th Northeast Youth Festival at Majuli Island in Assam

Assam, June 22 (ANI): Displaying their culture diversity and ethnicity to promote unity and brotherhood! The occasion was the 4th edition of Northeast Youth Festival at the picturesque Majuli Island in Assam.

All together two thousand youth delegates participated from the region in the three-day long extravaganza organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sport, Government of India. The aim was to foster National Integrity by promoting people to people contact through cultural exchange.

The festival was inaugurated by Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilisers, Ananth Kumar in the presence of Sarbananda Sonowal, the Union Minister of State-Independent Change for Sports and Youth Affairs and Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma.

They promised to develop tourism infrastructure in the region. The participants showcased the diverse culture of the Northeast region.

Assamese Actress Gayatri Mahanta performed Bihu dance and mesmerized the audience. Others also showcased dances, songs and culture of various tribes from the region.
