Sweden’s Crown Princess Victoria took to the waves with the all-female crew of a Volvo Ocean Race yacht in Lisbon harbour on Friday (June 5).
The princess hopped on board the Team SCA yacht from a support dinghy and took her turn grinding the winches and steering during a practice session.
The next stage of the round-the-world race is the relatively short trip from the Portuguese city to Lorient in France which starts on Sunday (June 7).
Team SCA – the first all-female crew to contest the ocean race in 12 years – lie sixth out of the seven boats remaining in the event.
The race is due to finish in Gothenburg later this month.
