New Delhi, June 3 (ANI): US Secretary of Defence, Ashton Carter, on Wednesday laid a floral wreath at the India Gate war memorial in New Delhi.
Carter was escorted by army personnel as he paid homage to the unknown soldiers who laid down their lives for the country.
Carter, who is on a three-day visit to India, arrived in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday. This is his first visit to India since he became Secretary of Defence in February.
Carter is expected to meet Indian Defence Minister, Manohar Parrikar, National Security Adviser, Ajit Doval, and Foreign Minister, Sushma Swaraj, later in the day. He will also call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Carter was the main architect of the India-US Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI).
