Sikh man attacked after being called ‘Bin Laden’ in Chicago; India calls for action

New Delhi/ Chandigarh, Sep 10 (ANI): India on Thursday called for action after an elderly Sikh-American man was brutally injured and called “terrorist” and “Bin Laden” in an apparent hate crime case in Chicago. This took place just days before the US commemorates the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain said that the government is looking into the case and will take necessary action. SAD leader Manjit Singh GK said that the government and Sikh community should educate people of the US about the Sikh community. Congress leader Manish Tewari said that PM Modi led central government should tell US government that such actions will not be tolerated. NCP leader Tariq Anwar said that such hate crimes are sad and condemnable. AAP leader Bhagwant Mann said that education regarding Sikh community is essential.
