Himachal Residents urged to promote Red Cross Activities in the State

SHIMLA: Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section (HWS) Chairperson Smt. Pratibha Singh has given a clarion call to the people of the State to come forward for promoting Red Cross activities in the State which was playing a pivotal role in the services of poor, needy and suffering humanity.

She was presiding over the meeting of the H.P. Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section here today. She said the HWS was providing medicines and assistance to the poor and needy patients under treatment in the hospitals and also to the OPD patients as well. She stressed the need for generating more funds for the HWS for which she suggested that active members should associate more people with HWS.

Expressing her concern over rising cases of addiction in the youth, she said the members of the HWS should focus on counseling of the parents over the drug abuse in consultation with the Principals of the educational institutes.

Smt. Singh said blood donation camps would be organized on 3-4 November, 2015 in Shimla.

Smt. Darshana Devi, wife of the Governor announced to donate Rs. 500 per month towards Hospital Welfare Section. Other members of HWS also contributed towards the Red Cross Fund on the occasion.
