Bihar Government is all set to procure 214 fire fighter bikes by 2016 end. These bikes would help to douse off fires in narrow streets where fire tankers are currently not able to reach.
A typical Fire Fighting Bike
Also called Mini-fire brigade, these bikes have capacity of 20L of Water with Foam. It also has equipments to douse off Electric Fires and Walky-Talky to communicate with Fire Station. Fitted with siren, these bikes can reach any part of the city in few minutes. Like Fire brigade, these bikes would remain parked at City Fire Station and would reach anywhere upon 101 call.
Each such bikes costs around Rs. 4 to 4.5 Lakh. The State Fire Department is in the process of procuring these bikes and would allot them to all districts by year end.
