Search for missing AN-32 aircraft battles monsoon winds

Vizag (AP), July 24 (ANI): Despite difficult monsoon weather conditions and poor visibility, search operations are continuing round the clock for the missing Indian Air Force AN-32 transport plane carrying 29 on board. Eastern Naval Command chief, Vice Admiral HCS Bisht on Sunday said that the search operations are on despite difficult monsoon weather conditions and poor visibility. He also said that due to thick monsoon clouds, the ongoing search operations to locate the aircraft remained unfruitful. He added that the Maritime Rescue and Coordination Centre at Chennai has been coordinating the search effort along with the Southern Air Command of the IAF, the Indian Navy and Indian Coast Guard. The plane has been missing since Friday after it took off from the Tambaram airbase, Chennai, at8.30 am on a routine flight to Port Blair.
