Srinagar/Bhopal, June 26 (ANI): Celebrations of Eid al-Fitr began on Monday morning across the nation after full moon was spotted on Sunday night. Eid al-Fitr marks end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. Muslims across the nation began the celebrations after offering prayers and wishing each other. Eid or Eid al-Fitr is one of the main festivals of Muslims that is celebrated worldwide. It also marks commencement of the month of Shawwal, which begins with a feast. During this festival, markets remain flooded with special sweets, sewai and clothes. On the auspicious day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his greetings and hailed the nation’s diversity. President Pranab Mukherjee also extended his greetings.
