Ramnath Kovind’s nomination as presidential candidate gets mixed reactions from political parties

Lucknow/New Delhi, June 19 (ANI): The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) decision of declaring Bihar Governor Ramnath Kovind as their presidential candidate drew mixed responses from the Opposition parties. Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) Supremo Mayawati said that it would have been better if the candidate had been from a non-political background. Refraining to comment much on the subject, senior Congress Leader Ghulam Nabi Azad said the nominee should have been selected after discussion with the Opposition parties. Meanwhile, Janata Dal (United) leader Sharad Yadav said his party will hold internal meetings and will comment only after that.
