Vijayawada (Andhra Pradesh), Aug 20 (ANI): The Vijayawada Police have felicitated a constable named Srinivasulu for risking his life and saving a woman who attempted suicide, on Sunday. Joint Commissioner of Police B.V. Ramana Kumar said a woman named Tirupatamma tried to commit suicide by jumping into the river at the Dharna Chowk in Vijayawada as her husband didn’t take her for a movie. Constable Srinivasulu saw that woman jumping into a canal and immediately responded and saved her from drowning in the canal. The police will also conduct counselling for the couple to resolve their dispute and are also planning to recommend the brave constable’s name for the Impressive Police Service Award.
