Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Aug 12 (ANI): At least 63 children died in the Baba Raghav Das Medical College in Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur since August 7. The incident triggered a spate of reactions from the opposition parties, who are seeking the resignation of the state Health Minister. Patients alleged that the doctors refused to discharge them even though the patient’s condition is normal. U.P. Health Minister Siddharth Nath Singh has said that the reason behind the deaths is being ascertained and action will be taken against those responsible. Children have died due to various diseases during the period. Singh asserted that the deaths were not because of paucity of oxygen. People also from various areas held a candle march over the children deaths in the hospital.
