Kenya protest: Violence follows re-election of President Uhuru Kenyatta

Kenya, Aug 13 (ANI): At least eleven people are believed to have been killed by police in a violent clash in Kenya. The clash broke out in Nairobi’s slums on Saturday after Uhuru Kenyatta was re-elected as the President. Areas loyal to opposition leader Raila Odingr are witnessing unrest. The western city of Kisumu also felt the rage as a man was killed in the city. The opposition accused the security forces of killing more than hundred people without providing any proof of the allegations. The National Super Alliance (NASA) coalition of Raila Odinga, who lost last two elections, claimed the election commission’s systems were hacked. Kenyans fear that history might repeat itself as the signs are similar to violence that erupted after the 2007 contested election, when as many as 1,200 people were killed and hundreds other were injured.
