51 e-auto women drivers hit roads of Dantewada

Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), Oct 02 (ANI): Nearly 51 women auto drivers have hit the road of naxal-affected Dantewada district in Chhattisgarh. These women, who received the electricity-run auto rickshaws under ‘Danteshwari Sewa’, underwent a month-long training session on how to drive the vehicle. The project is titled ‘Dantewada Advanced Network of Transport Empowered SHG’ Not only this, the Chief Minister Raman Singh-led Government has also provided smart phones to these drivers, wherein an application has been installed to protect them from Naxals and sexual abuse. These women are also committed to assist pregnant women if an ambulance fails to reach on time. For such good deeds, these women will be paid extra by the administration. The women drivers hailed the initiative and thanked Chief Minister Raman Singh for giving them an opportunity to be independent.
