Minister Raman Singh on Monday allocated more than Rs. 15 crore for the development of Bastar district. Sing said the amount will be used to upgrade colleges and to build hostels for senior secondary girls and boys. He also informed that a particular amount will be allocated to the social welfare department with an aim to carry out programmes and services for the persons with disabilities. The chief minister also announced that special schools for deaf and mute people will be built in Bastar. Meanwhile, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Singh emphasised the need to carry forward the cleanliness drive initiated by father of the nation Mahatma Gandhi.
