NGT’s ban on chanting at Amaranth for safety of pilgrims: SC lawyer Aditya Singal

New Delhi, Dec 13 (ANI): The National Green Tribunal, on Wednesday, banned chanting mantras at Amarnath Yatra and issued several orders to the Amarnath Shrine Board for implementation. The body directed the board to not allow pilgrims to carry their cellphones after the last checkpoint. The green court ordered board to form a single queue to visit the cave. On the directions given by the NGT, Supreme Court lawyer Aditya Singla said that chanting should not be done near the last leg of the Yatra as landslide or avalanches may occur due to vibrations generated by accumulative chanting by the pilgrims.
