Shimla reels under cold wave conditions, IMD issues heavy snow warning

Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), Dec 12 (ANI): The north Indian state Himachal Pradesh recorded light snowfall on higher reaches and rain in mid hills during past 12 hours in different districts of the state. The meteorology department has issued heavy snow and rain warning during next 24 hours in the state. According to the local weather department the active western disturbance in the region has resulted clouds formation across the state. During past 12 hours the higher reaches have received light fresh snowfall and rain in mid hills. The IMD director of Himachal Pradesh said that Mandi, Kangra and other districts will get heavy rainfall for next two days. High hills in Lahul-Spiti, Kinnaur, Shimla, Kullu and Chamba will receive fresh snowfall. Local residents are expecting heavy snow as forecasted by the local weather department. They are preparing for snow and are using bon fire to beat the cold.
