Army provides training to unemployed youth

Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir), Jan 14 (ANI): In a government initiative, the Army established a skill training centre in Baramullah district to self empower Kashmiri youth. The initiative has been taken under the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) and Pradhan Mantri Kushal Vikas yojana. The Centre, established at Headquarters of Rashtriya Rifles (RR), Haiderbegh Pattan in Baramulla District, provides short skill training like Business Process Outsourcing (BPO), language skills among others. The aim of the centre is to provide employment opportunities to the dropouts youth and others who do not possess any skill required for getting employment. Under this scheme, selected youths will be provided two weeks of specialized training. In the initial phase, the centre will run courses in Food Processing and Information Technology. The qualified youth will be skilled in food preservation, canning and juice storage of seasonal fruits whereas Information Technology course will provide opportunities in Information Technology sector.
