Chennai (TN), Jan 17 (ANI): Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his deputy O Panneerselvam distributed ‘biryani’ to workers at the AIADMK party office in Chennai. The gesture came as part of the celebrations marking 101st birth anniversary of MG Ramachandran (MGR), founder of the AIADMK. Born on January 17, 1917, MG Ramachandran was a star in the Tamil cinema before joining Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Later, he founded AIADMK following a feud with DMK chief M. Karunanidhi. MG Ramachandran, a Bharat Ratna awardee, was popularly known as “Makkal Thilagam” (People’s King) as he was popular with the masses. He played instrumental role in launching former chief minister J.
