IT minister K.T. Rama Rao holds review meeting to curb human trafficking in state

Hyderabad, Jan 14 (ANI): Information Technology (IT) minister K.T. Rama Rao held a review meeting in Hyderabad on Saturday. State Home Minister Nayini Narsimha Reddy along with Hyderabad Director General of Police (DGP) M. Mahender Reddy, Commissioner V.V. Srinivas Rao and other officials were also present in the meeting. During the meeting, Rao expressed his concern on Arab sheikhs ‘marrying’ local minor Muslim girls through agents. He also highlighted on the rising cases of human trafficking. Echoing Union Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj’s words, the IT Minister said that the state should take stringent action against people involved in it. Rao assured Swaraj that the state government has been actively taking measures to curb these incidents and till now 300 cases have been registered in this connection.
