Rajouri (J&K), Jan 17 (ANI): Massive employment has been provided to people of Rajouri under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA) scheme of the Centre. Under the scheme, development works like road construction provides employment to job card holders. The region was reeling under acute unemployment issue which is now being eradicated by such schemes of the government. The scheme was launched in 2008 but failed to give any results because of the unawareness regarding its benefits among the people. However, after the government started allocating funds for the development of the region, people started getting employment here. The scheme has benefited the people to a large extent as now they don’t have to leave their homes in search of employment. It aims at enhancing the livelihood security of people in rural areas by guaranteeing 100 days of wage-employment in a financial year.
