80% of Ganga will be cleaned by 2019, says Nitin Gadkari

New Delhi, Feb 13 (ANI): While attending the ANI’s Infracon 2018 in the National Capital on Tuesday, Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Nitin Gadkari said that the Centre has targeted to make 80 to 90 percent of the River Ganga clean by March 2019. In the interactive session, the Minister said that the government has completed 47 projects on River Ganga. Gadkari said that not just the River Ganga, but its tributaries and nullahs will also be cleaned by next year. He added that the government will start projects on cleaning the Ganga and Yamuna rivers before March 2018. As per the Ministry of River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, an estimated 3,000 million liters of sewer water goes into the Ganga every day.
