AP CM addresses leaders of ‘Sadhikara mitras’

Amaravati, Feb 22 (ANI): Andhara Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu addressed a gathering of ‘Sadhikara mitras’, leaders of self help groups at his residence. The CM met these women and spoke with them personally as well as virtually. There are More than 5 lakh women who are recognized as Sadhikara Mitras. The state government has started the concept of “Sadhikara Mitra”, wherein each woman will be responsible for 35 families. She has to explain about the benefits of govt schemes, create awareness among public, and also ensure that the benefits reach the rightful stakeholders. Ministers Nara Lokesh, P Narayana and P Sunita also attended the program. The AP said, “Sadhikara mitra is a unique concept. We have self help groups, DWCRA groups, irrigation water groups. Every village has many officers. We conducted many programs like welfare – satisfaction, Swacch Andhra Pradesh, development of agriculture and allied sectors, updating and upgrading technology, poverty eradication, Ananda Lahari etc programs.” He added, “Women should have self respect. They should not depend upon anybody. Today we have 90 lakh DWCRA women. You have to take care of 35 families in your villages, resolve their problems. Your voluntary services are laudable. Now you 5 lakh Sadhikara Mitras are like a big army for me. If all of us work together, all villages will become problem free. The world is full of problems. We have to overcome the problems.”
