Oli government reaches out to Madhesis to bring them on board

Kathmandu (Nepal), Feb 22 (ANI): In an effort to bring disgruntled Madhesi parties on board, the newly-elected Prime Minister K.P. Sharma Oli’s government has reached out to the stakeholders in the Terai region. The early phase of negotiations has not been officially recognized. However, RJP-N leaders remain optimistic of getting their due rights in due course of time. Madhesi leaders said they were ready to join the government provided their demands were met. Amid numerous agreements and promises, the Madhesis want a solution and threatened to protest if their demands are not met. Oli, sworn in as Nepal’s 41st prime minister after his Left alliance swept the National Assembly elections held last year, now faces the challenge of resolving the long-pending issues of Madhesis.
