Tributes paid to human rights activist Asma Jahangir at UN

Geneva (Switzerland), Mar 13 (ANI): Political activists from Pakistan and Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK) paid tributes to Pakistani human rights activist Asma Jahangir, who fought for the rights of oppressed people in Pakistan. One minute silence was observed to pay tribute to her. Asma Jahangir died of heart attack on February 11, 2018. Speaking at an event during the 37th Session of UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, International Human Rights Council member Naveed Basheer said, “From the start she faced such reactions from the state that they did not like a women is talking about things which are taboos in Pakistan”.
