BJP workers create ruckus over Yeddyurappa’s decision to not field his son from Varuna constituency

Mysore (Karnataka), Apr 23 (ANI): Furious Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers created ruckus at party’s state president B.S. Yeddyurappa’s rally after he announced that his son B.Y Vijayendra will not be contesting from Varuna constituency. As the BJP state president left the stage after making the announcement, angry workers got on to the dais and damage furniture. Yeddyurappa’s announcement led to largescale protests by BJP workers, following which police resorted to lathicharge to bring the situation under control. The BJP has not so far officially announced any candidate for Varuna. The protesting workers said they would resign from the party and vote for HD Deve Gowda’s Janata Dal (Secular).
