Fruit sellers in Kerala affected after outbreak of Nipah virus

Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala), May 27 (ANI): Ever since the outbreak of Nipah virus in parts of Kerala and subsequent deaths from it has been reported, people have become cautious. Fruit sellers are severely affected by the outbreak of the virus. Their sales have gone down as people are avoiding buying fruits fearing they may be infected. The disease is being linked to fruit bats, who infect fruits, according to the World Health Organisation (WHO) website.
