MP farmers troubled over low rates for their onion production

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), May24 (ANI): Onion farmers of Madhya Pradesh are troubled with the low buying price of their produce at sabzi mandi. Madhya Pradesh’s scheme for farmers, Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana, which promises support to those selling their production under the Minimum Support Price (MSP), is of no avail to the distressed farmers. A farmer complains that, “We have no other option but to sell our produce at rates as low as Rs 2/kg, Rs 2.50/kg and Rs 3/kg at sabzi mandi after price drop due to bumper crop produce.” Another farmer added, “We don’t know how much or when we’ll get benefit under Bhavantar Bhugtan Yojana.”
