Muslim man recites verses of Ramcharitmanas

Sultanpur (Uttar Pradesh), May 21 (ANI): It is often believed that Hindus are more inclined towards worshipping Lord Hanumana but Abdul Wahid in Sultanpur’s Janpad Jail has set an example of communal co-existence by preaching Sunderkand from Ramcharitmanas to inmates, which was pre-conceived to be practiced by Hindus only. He started reciting verses of Sundar Kand to make the inmates of the jail aware of their own capabilities just like Lord Hanuman, who could eradicate self-doubts with the help of external forces as mentioned in Sundar Kand. Apart from singing melodiously and imparting knowledge of Ramacharitamanas, Abdul indulges himself in several cultural and social events taking place in the jail. He also recites Hanuman Chalisa every evening along with the staff and inmates belonging to different communities and religions with great zeal and enthusiasm. Although he espouses Islam, he never considered any one religion superior than others or abstained himself from worshipping gods and deities revered in Hindu religion. That’s where he derived a liking towards other faiths too. The entire atmosphere of the Sultanpur jail gets filled with positive and happy vibes once he starts singing the verses of Sunder Kand. People here, are tied by the religion of love, brotherhood and harmony as reiterated in the verses of Ramcharitmanas.
