Northeast lags behind due to Congress’s rule for 50-60 years: Amit Shah

Guwahati (Assam), May 20 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party president Amit Shah inaugurated the North East Democratic Alliance’s third conclave on Sunday. The venue of the meeting was plagued by protestors from Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti, who were opposing the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill. In his address at the conclave Amit Shah said, “Before independence, GDP of Assam was the highest in this country. But, what happened after that? Why did Northeast lag behind post independence? It was all because of Congress’s rule.”
