Petrol, diesel can’t be brought under GST until all state finance ministers agree: MoS Finance

Gorakhpur (UP), May 23 (ANI): Union Minister of State Finance Shiv Pratap Shukla on Wednesday said that recent fuel price hikes in the country are a result of global crude oil price increase. He further asserted that petrol and diesel can’t be brought before the council until all state finance ministers agree on it. Shukla added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is taking fuel price hike matter seriously. “Crude is imported. Foreign companies are raising price. Petroleum Minister has said petrol and diesel should be brought under GST. Point is it can’t be brought before the Council until and unless all state finance ministers agree. PM is taking the matter seriously,” Shukla said.
