Dantewada (Chhattisgarh), May 31 (ANI): An elderly couple in Dantewada’s Budpadar village lives in an acute poverty and received no basic facilities like a proper house, toilet and electricity from the government. The government’s schemes which are made for elderly couples which include, pension schemes and Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana are not been provided to the couple. Despite the state government declaring the village as Open Defecation Free (ODF). The woman said, “We do not receive any basic facilities like water and electricity. No one from the authorities have come to check on us. Even for water I walk 1 km.” Saurabh Kumar, District Collector said, “We have got to know this from you. The government will help the couple in every way possible.”
