Leh (J&K), Jun 28, (ANI): As many as 185 monks and nuns from Thailand are taking part in a ‘Pad Yatra’ in Leh. The aim of earthing barefoot by the disciples of Buddha is to spread the message of peace, love and harmony. The third edition of the peace march commences every year at the holy shrine of Bodhgya, from where the team of Buddhists march towards Dharamshala to seek the blessings of Tibetan spiritual leader Dalai Lama. The team then embarks the spiritual journey towards Ladakh while chanting mantras and playing traditional music. People of Ladakh accorded a grand reception to the monks and nuns from Thailand, who reached Leh after completing a month-long peace march. The devotees reached their destination, Shanti Stupa where they prayed and thanked for the food. The peace walk is held every year by the disciples of Buddha. The monks and nuns follow Tibetan Buddhism. Tibetan Buddhism is the form of Buddhist doctrine and institutions named after the lands of Tibet, but also found in the regions surrounding the Himalayas and much of Central Asia.
