Vijayawada (AP), Jun 20 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday inaugurated Eastern Delta Regulator at Prakasam Barrage on Krishna River in Vijayawada. Water from this regulator will be released to the eastern delta in Krishna district spanning 7.34 lakh acres. The water is being brought from Godavari River via Pattiseema lift irrigation project into Krishna River. This is fourth consecutive year Godavari water being given to Krishna delta. On the occasion, CM Naidu said, “As polavaram project is taking much long time, we at first built Pattiseema lift irrigation project. From Pattiseema, we have been successfully giving water to Krishna delta since last three years. This is fourth year.” Lambasting at opposition party, Naidu said, “Opposition parties trying to create hurdles at every juncture. Some miscreants have tried to breach canals. But we are overcoming all such hurdles, working for public welfare. When opposition party is making baseless allegations, everyone should come out and condemn such attempts.”
