Construction of world’s largest dome underway at Pune’s MAEER’s MIT College

Pune (Maharashtra), Jun 29 (ANI): Construction of world’s largest dome is underway at MAEER’s MIT College in Pune. With a diameter of 160 ft this would be the largest dome of the world surpassing St Peter’s Church dome at Vatican City. The dome will be used as a prayer hall which can accommodate about 3500 people at once. Along with the prayer hall the dome will also house a library named ‘World Peace Library’ which will have wide variety of books for students to study including few rare books. The prayer hall will also have statues of 54 eminent personalities including renowned philosopher, great scientists, freedom fighters and saints such as Mahatma Gandhi, Swami Vivekananda, Albert Einstein and Gautam Buddha. The construction work of this dome started back in 2016 and is expected to be finished in next one or two months.
