Jind (Haryana), Jun 04 (ANI): Around 100 Dalits in Haryana’s Jind converted to Buddhism after sitting on protest for last 113 days. They claimed that the state government has failed in fulfilling their demands. Dalit Leader Dinesh Khapad said that Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar had assured that their demands will be fulfilled but did not take any action then and gave them ultimatum for their conversion if the demands are not fulfilled. He said, “We are here on dharna since the last 115 days in Jind. Our demands were already accepted by the government and are sitting on dharna to have them fulfilled from the government. CM Kahttar had a meeting with our committee members on March 7 and he agreed to fulfill our demands. We gave an ultimatum on May 20 that we’ll convert if CM doesn’t fulfill our demands in a week.”
