Srinagar (J&K), Jun 04 (ANI): The J&K Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) has started massive mission to clean the world famous Dal Lake by removing lily weeds which are damaging the ecological balance of the lake. Before reaching the lake, the water passes through denuded mountains carrying tons of silt and nutrients with it propelling growth of weeds. The thick growth of lily weeds hampers movement of shikaras and affects aesthetic beauty of the lake. To restore its glory the LAWDA has started this mission to remove lily weeds from the lake. Every year scores of tourists visit the lake to witness its beauty.
