Midday meal cooks in Moradabd protest for pay hike

Moradabad (Uttar Pradesh), Jun 12 (ANI): Hundreds of midday meal cooks working under the midday meal scheme gathered at Moradabad’s Ambedkar Park on June 11 to protest against the Uttar Pradesh government. The women demanded an increase in their minimum wages which is currently Rs 30 per day. The protestors stated that it has become difficult to run a house in just Rs 1000 and hence, they need an increased pay of Rs 10,000 per month.
