Music Director Vishal Roy campaigns for National Animal Rights Day 2018

Famous Music Director and Singer from Kolkata, Vishal Roy has lent his support to the National Animal Rights Day (NARD) 2018 campaign. It is an annual day observed in multiple countries around the world on the first Sunday in June, for the purpose of giving a voice to all animals and raising awareness for their rights, until all animals are free from enslavement and their rights are established and protected by law.

On this day, special NARD events are held in major cities across the world. They start with a memorial ceremony for the billions of animals who die every year by human hands – often in the presence of real deceased animals who are mourned in public – and the reading and signing of The Declaration of Animal Rights.

Intellectuals, Social Activists and Pioneers from major cities across the world unite to remember the billions of animals subjected to deliberate cruelty and killing across the world every year. This coordinated global day of action has intensified calls for the recognition of the rights of all sentient beings to life, liberty and natural enjoyment.

“If you ask whether I consider myself an animal lover it will be difficult to answer, I consider my pet (dog) Roxy as my brother. It is very difficult to understand the bond we share if you do not observe us. I am the only who is closest to him.”, says he.

Vishal is not a typical dog lover but the ethics he exhibit about loving animals deserve some praise. “I am not a vegan, but I have always observed that Sunday is that particular day of the week when consumption of meat remains higher than usual. I am very strict about the fact that my Sunday food routine remains totally vegetarian. Even when I am partying or enjoying party with some friends I do stick to my routine. I think most of you know that we have hectic schedule but whenever my schedule remains normal I do feed street dogs, this gives me a sense of satisfaction which I might fail to convey in words.” says the young music director.

We often see baby monkeys being taken from their mothers, being housed in cages where they can’t even stand and feel your heart breaking as you watch them cry out in pain. People enjoy visits to the zoo and aquarium but it is important to realize what these hapless animals go through on a daily basis for the sake of our own entertainment value and vanity. “My profession provides me opportunity to travel across the country and needless to say I do get opportunities to visit amazing zoo and aquariums as a dose of entertainment. Had I not educated myself on what these poor defenseless animals go through on a daily basis for the sake of our own entertainment value and vanity I too would have been a stupid fellow enjoying zoo scenes.” adds Vishal.

The Ace Music director also motivates us to switch to products that are animal cruelty free and use apparels that were manufactured without hurting any animal. “A small step can make big difference if we take it” adds Vishal Roy.
