Nirjala Ekadashi 2018: Devotees take part in ‘kalash yatra’ from Ganga Ghat to Kashi Vishwanath Temple

Varanasi (UP), Jun 24 (ANI): On the occasion of Nirjala Ekadashi, Devotees from across the country took part in ‘kalash yatra’ from Ganga Ghat to Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on Sunday. There are 24 Ekadashis as per the annual Hindu Calendar. The day falls on the Shukla Paksha of Jyeshtha month and coincides with May or June. The meaning of the word Nirjala is ‘without water’. People observing fast don’t consume a single drop of water this day. The auspicious day is dedicated to Lord Vishnu and all Ekadashis are very important days in the Hindu calendar.
