‘One pet per flat’ rule outrages dog owners in Bengaluru

Bengaluru (Karnataka), Jun 11 (ANI): Animal lovers and pet owners in Bengaluru launched a campaign against the new pet rules laid out by the city’s municipal authority.Scores of dog owners showed up infront of the municipal office to protest against the new by-laws that require dog owners to get a licence, comprising a radio collar with an embedded chip to their pets. A fine of Rs 1,000 would have to be paid by the owner, if the dog doesn’t have a license. Moreover, residents of a flat can only have one dog as a pet, while those staying in an individual house can have three pets.
