New Delhi, Jun 11 (ANI): Senior Congress leader and former finance minister P Chidambaram slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) over several issues related to Indian economy on Monday. While addressing a press conference, Chidambaram listed some “incontrovertible” facts of the Indian economy under Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP Government. He said, “There is widespread anger about artificially fixed prices of petrol, diesel and LPG. There is absolutely no reason why prices should be higher today than what they were in May-June 2014. It is nothing but a case of fleecing the helpless consumer.” Chidambaram also spoke on the condition of Indian farmers and their nationwide protest. He said, “The promise of MSP equals cost plus 50 per cent is Jumla.”
