Agartala (Tripura), Jun 08 (ANI): President Ram Nath Kovind declared the queen variety of pineapple as the official fruit of the north-eastern state of Agartala. At a reception held for him by the chief of the state, Kovind unveiled the fruit and said that he was happy at the rate of export of the fruit. Speaking at the event, President praised the state for its progressive discourse, especially for empowering the women and their participation in sports, mentioning Olympian gymnast Dipa Karmakar.
