Students march in anti-drug rally in Shimla

Shimla (HP), Jun 27 (ANI): School and college students in large numbers gathered with teachers for a rally on the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking to support the cause of awareness against substance abuse in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla. Over 2,000 volunteers participated in the rally organised for the International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, majority of them being students belonging to over 30 schools around the city. The students marched around the city with colourful placards in hand with drug awareness messages written on it. The students also attended an oath taking ceremony under the supervision of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur against the use of drugs, who was the chief guest at the event. Thakur appreciated the efforts by the students on the special day and also added that the state police department has helped in a great manner in reducing use of drug in the state.
