Tribals in Jharkhand embrace government schemes

Latehar (Jharkhand), Jun 23 (ANI): Multiple villages in the state of Jharkhand, which were left battered by the years of naxal-violence, continue to reel under abject poverty and an underprivileged state of life. An unrelenting violent campaign by the ultra-left radicals has left the region exceedingly underdeveloped with a very little basic infrastructure for education, health systems, safe water, functioning markets, or paved roads. However, the disillusioned tribals, who have now parted ways with the regressive ideology of Maoists, are now ready to embrace the comprehensive developmental projects and schemes launched exclusively for them by the government. Government’s tenacity in bringing these radicals to the mainstream has yielded overwhelming results of late as many of these radicals have abandoned the ideology of weapon and surrendered to in order to lead a normal life. These anti-establishment rabble rousers have further been pushed back by the assertive actions of security forces in recent times.
