Watch: Helicopter winches down officer on burning SSL Kolkata

Onboard, Jun 16 (ANI): A helicopter from Eastern Naval Command winched down an officer on merchant vessel SSL Kolkata, who dropped the anchor from the ship to prevent it from drifting off the Sagar Island at the mouth of the Ganges delta. The MV SSL Kolkata caught fire on June 14 and is still burning. Indian Navy specialist team launched an operation led by its Marine Commandos (MARCOS) and restricted the movement of MV SSL Kolkata by anchoring the cargo ship, still on fire, from drifting off the Sagar Island, Sundarbans at the mouth of the Ganges delta. 22 crew members were successfully rescued by the Indian Coast Guard.
